*By default, the successful candidate will be offered a contract in the MSF office of their country of residence at the time of application.

 

I. MSF INTERNATIONAL

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, healthcare exclusion and natural disasters. MSF offers assistance to people based only on need and irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation. MSF International is the legal entity that binds MSF’s 24 sections, 28 associations and 19 branch offices together. Registered in Switzerland, MSF International provides coordination, information and support to the MSF Movement, as well as implements international projects and initiatives as requested.

 

II. POSITION BACKGROUND

The SPINCO team (https://spinco.msf.org/) delivers a set of solutions which act as the central source of trusted product information for MSF internal processes. They ensure the quality of information within those systems, the maintenance and development of the tools, and support users in the operation of the tools. Through the delivery of these services, SPINCO acts as the driver for effective collaboration across the MSF movement in relation to product management.  

 

The flagship SPINCO solution is UniData, MSF’s central supply article database that details all items available for the field and shares information changes within the Movement. The online platforms of UniData and Unicat give oversight on articles available as resources for operations, in alignment with MSF guidelines and protocols. SPINCO also provides UniQuality & UniLocal, the MSF Medical Product Qualification databases, and MSL Medical Standard Lists, a tool which allows collaboration on managing lists of products in projects around the world. The solutions are accessible online to permitted users, and data is made available to other tools in the movement via APIs, enhancing interoperability of processes and information.  

 

 

III. PLACE IN THE ORGANISATION

The Data Integration Analyst is part of the SPINCO team of MSF International. He/she reports to the Business Strategy Coordinator and works closely with key staff in all Operational Centres of MSF and Supply Centres.

The Data Integration Analyst works closely with the Business Analysts within the Business Strategy Team. They collaborate closely with other key technical stakeholders such as the SPINCO Technical Team, responsible for development and maintenance of SPINCO systems, OC and ESC Technical and/or Data Analysis Teams, responsible for development and maintenance of their respective systems and integrations. They collaborate closely with business stakeholders who use the systems to support their work with data and evidence.

IV. OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION

 As part of the SPINCO Business Strategy Team, the Data Integration Analyst will have the objectives to 

  • Ensure the efficient integration of data between databases, platforms, and products relevant to the delivery of SPINCO services 

  • Liaise between stakeholders in various MSF entities, like technical teams, product owners, and business stakeholders, to ensure seamless flow of high-quality information, efficient system interoperability, and alignment with organizational goals and objectives 

  • Provide analysis of data and integrations to support business insights, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making 

  • Seek and promote opportunities for greater interoperability and mutualization of data and information within the movement 

 

V. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather and share integration and data analysis requirements 

  • Analyze existing or planned systems, processes, and workflows to identify integration and data optimization opportunities 

  • Collaborate on and monitor data integration projects, ensuring timelines, quality standards, and business objectives are met 

  • Document integration processes, data mappings, and system dependencies 

  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of integration-related issues 

  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy standards 

  • Work closely with developers, database administrators, and product teams to validate integration logic and performance 

  • Perform data analysis on internal and integrated datasets to identify trends, anomalies and quality issues, and create actionable recommendations 

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to support data-driven decision making 

  • Maintain a centralized repository of integration documentation, data dictionaries, and change logs 

  • Provide regular updates and reports to leadership on integration status, risks, and analytical outcomes 

  • Contribute to a happy and healthy work environment

Job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field 

  • Certifications in systems integration, data analysis, or project coordination are a plus 

  • Minimum 2 years working in positions with similar scope of work 

 

Specific Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of data integration concepts, APIs, ETL processes, and database systems 

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R) 

  • Familiarity with business workflow and business process modelling  

  • Experience with integration tools and platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Informatica) 

  • Ability to interpret complex datasets and present findings in a clear, actionable format 

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills 

  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities 

  • Familiarity with Agile or other project management methodologies 

  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language 

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams 

  • English language proficiency is essential, French, Spanish, Arabic and other languages are a plus
