Job description
Compensation and benefits: MSF practice is to offer the C&B package current in the MSF entity establishing the contract.
*By default, the successful candidate will be offered a contract in the MSF office of their country of residence at the time of application.
MSF International is the legal entity that binds MSF’s 24 sections, 25 associations and other offices together. Registered in Switzerland, MSF International provides coordination, information and support to the MSF Movement, as well as implements international projects and initiatives as requested.
II. POSITION BACKGROUND
MSF field operations are led by 6 Operational Centres (OCs), cover more than 60 countries around the world, and are comprised of different functions/departments, e.g. Medical, Logistical, Supply Chain, Finance, and Human Resources. Different OCs and departments use a variety of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and other tools to manage their day-to-day operations capturing transactional data and generating visibility for many different purposes including administering resources and payments, monitoring and reporting performance, planning & budget management, and taking management decisions.
This year MSF will embark on a reflection of its field (and HQ) ERP system future triggered by the following challenges:
Strategic movement priorities such as mutualization of resources, interoperability, efficiency, effectiveness, accountability, and reduction of carbon footprint
The need to support our social mission in terms of rationalization of complexity and bureaucracy in our processes and enhancement of reaction speed and data visibility
Technological obsolescence in terms of remaining life span of existing tools, increasing risks in terms of cyber security & data protection, and evolving connectivity needs
Risk of increasing fragmentation and complexity
Functional areas that are not structurally covered
III. OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION
The goal of this position is to obtain a shared, long-term and movement-wide vision on the future ERP architecture for MSF´s field and HQ operations, taking into consideration a degree of integration and/or standardisation needs across different systems, entities and functional areas, types of technologies and market solutions, and required next steps.
The Senior Project Manager - ERP Reflection:
Is responsible for end-to-end project delivery
Reports hierarchically to the International Information Systems Coordinator (IISC)
Is accountable to the international management platforms for Finance, Logistics, Medical, Supply Chain, Information Systems Management, and for final decision taking to the Core ExCom (Executive Committee)
Works in close collaboration with the International Coordinators of Finance, Logistics, Medical and Supply Chain and designated colleagues in different International Office (IO) and OC departments
Interacts with senior stakeholders within the MSF movement across OCs and different functions
Interacts with external actors such as technology or market experts and potential suppliers
IV. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure completion of the defined deliverables of the Field (&HQ) ERP reflection project:
Map the “AS IS” system landscape and on-going system developments across the MSF movement
Identify the main functional and technological requirements
Do market research focusing on technology, architecture and existing solutions
Evaluate a limited number of scenarios for the future architecture
Facilitate appropriate project management & planning processes to ensure coherent decision making:
Plan, monitor, and follow upon project activities, discussions and decision-making processes
Facilitate and/or chair project and stakeholder groups / meetings
Provide proper communication to different communities of stakeholders
Prepare project documentation and communication materials
Engage with stakeholders across the movement and beyond, e.g. from field to HQ, from system users to senior management, and across OCs & departments:
Share progress and deliverables with stakeholders
Gather input and expectations from stakeholders
Resolve dilemmas and priorities based on stakeholders´ input
Facilitate decision-making involving different senior management platforms at international level

Job requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s/Master’s in Information Technology/Systems, Engineering, Business or other relevant area
Experience:
6+ years of relevant experience in management of complex technical and organizational projects including stakeholder management at the senior level
Extensive experience related to assessments and/or implementation of ERP systems or similar
Work experience within MSF and/or equivalent experience in other humanitarian organisations is an important asset.
Knowledge and Skills:
Analytical thinking in terms of complex processes and systems
Technology savviness
Ample understanding of stakeholder management and governance in complex organizations
Strong interpersonal, organizational and project management skills
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Diplomacy and resilience, ability to negotiate and persuade
Ability to work in a cross-cultural and cross-functional environment
Understanding of international complex supply chain management
Excellent problem-solving abilities
Drive for improvement and innovation
Experienced in change management
Ability to work effectively under pressure, displaying sound initiative and judgment
Certification or knowledge of project management methodologies and tools is a plus
Languages:
Fluent in English, written and spoken
Other languages (e.g., French, Spanish, Arabic) is an asset
Occasional travel will be required.
